About the Ride


The race is very scenic and challenging and starts in Hunterville and heads up the Rangatira hill and makes its way down to Kakariki and onto the end of Pryces Line for the finish of the half ride.
To this Point the ride has been a long down hill run with three climbs. The second half is the opposite, with a continual rise to Stormy Point before dropping 800 feet in 4 km to Rewa, followed by 3 sharp climb backs to Hunterville.

 
Distance:
full race – 100 km, half ride – 50 km.

REGISTRATION SATURDAY 22 OCT 4-5.30PM SUNDAY 23 OCT 7.30-9AM
Collection of Race Packs/Race Numbers and LATE REGISTRATION takes place in the Hunterville Town Hall, Bruce Street (turn at the Argyle Hotel)
Start: Briefing (ALL RIDES) 9.30am at the Town Hall.
The 100km start line is at the Fire Station Rangatira Road, the 50km & 17km start line is next to the Town Hall Bruce Street.

RACE CONDITIONS



1 Rules of the New Zealand Road Code apply
2 An approved safety helmet must be worn. No exceptions
3 No aero bars to be used when riding in bunches
4 Riders stopping at drink stations to keep left of marker cones
5 100km riders have 41/2 hours to complete, 43km riders have 21/2 hours to complete.
After these times the courses are closed and all support is withdrawn
6a) No refunds we race in all weather conditions
b) Entries are non-transferable-every rider competing must sign the waiver
7 Any support vehicles entering road closure areas will result in that riders immediate disqualification.
Due to the narrow nature of many of the roads support vehicles are discouraged
8 Riders must obey all instructions from Marshalls and Officials
9 Riders must present their race number in person to claim any prize
10 Banking of entry fees to be taken as confirmation of entry
11 Keep to the left of the middle of the road at all times and be aware of other road users
